What is scenario sharing?
Scenario sharing lets the owner collaborate with another person who already has a Cashflow Scenarios account. The scenario stays owned by the person who created it, and the owner controls who has access.
The owner assigns viewer or editor access. The recipient first receives an invitation inside the application and cannot see the scenario's financial details until accepting it.
How sharing works
- 1
Open an owned Scenario
Open the Scenario you want to share, then choose Sharing to go to the Shared page.
- 2
Choose Share a scenario
Select the Scenario and enter the email connected to the recipient's existing account in Collaborator email.
- 3
Choose a role
Under Role, choose Viewer or Editor for this collaborator.
- 4
Send the invitation
Choose Send invitation. The recipient can review it under Invitations on the Shared page.
- 5
Wait for acceptance
The recipient gains access only after choosing Accept.
Viewer and editor access
A viewer can open and review the shared Scenario but cannot change it. An editor can also update ordinary Scenario details and Scenario-specific financial information. Neither role can manage sharing, change ownership, or delete the entire Scenario.
The owner can change an accepted collaborator's role later from Shared by me.
Important sharing boundaries
- No invitation email is sent. The recipient reviews the invitation inside the Shared page.
- The recipient must already have an account, and the invited email must match that account.
- A pending recipient can see invitation information, but not the Scenario's financial details.
- The owner's Master Library remains private and is not shared.
- A shared baseline does not replace the recipient's own baseline.
- The owner can revoke a pending invitation or accepted access at any time.
After an invitation is accepted
The Scenario appears under Shared with me for the collaborator and under Shared by me for the owner. The owner continues to see it on the normal Scenarios page as well.
The collaborator can leave at any time. The owner can add other collaborators, update roles, or revoke access from Shared by me.
